Andy Mineo edges Led Zeppelin for ESPN’s best walk-up song in MLB

Five-time Grammy Award-winning rock band Led
Zeppelin’s celebrated song “Kashmir” turned 40
this year, and on Sunday, it lost to Andy Mineo’s
“You Can’t Stop Me” in ESPN’s 2015 Whammys.

This past week, ESPN matched up 32 songs for fans to vote for the best walk-up song in the MLB. In
Round 1, Mineo faced Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” a
significantly more well-known track, but “You Can’t
Stop Me” dominated with 94 percent of the vote.

This trend continued for Mineo — not always as
dramatically, but with the same result — all the way
to the finals. “You Can’t Stop Me” survived
showdowns with Big Sean’s “Blessings,” Steve
Austin’s “WWE Entrance Music” and Frank Sinatra’s
“Fly Me To The Moon.” And in the finals against “Kashmir,” ESPN announced on Sunday night that
fans again voted for Mineo.

The victory is conveniently-timed, given that Mineo
has an album dropping this month.
