No one, including the best of Christians, is particularly fond of discouragement, suffering, criticism and other “bad” things.
In fact, a lot of people run away from them and pray for easier lives.
However, these things, which are often seen as terrible things, might just be the best things for you.

Why? Because God uses them to teach us necessary values.
First all, nothing happens without God’s say-so, for crying out loud, the Bible says He knew our names way before we were born.
Jeremiah 1:5 confirms this, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
This means everything that happens is preordained and happens for a reason.
So, what could this reason be?
The answer is that we experience these things in order to get better, stronger.
You never know your full potential if there is nothing to push you to greatness.
You can not really know how weak or strong you are if you only experience the good parts of life.
Another reason why we go through these things is so that we find our way back to the creator.
Have you ever gone through something so hard, so tough, it forced you to cry out unto God? To realise that we have an amazing Father and that we are literally nothing without Him?
2 Corinthians 1:8–9 says,”We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.”

Bad/tough times should not make you wary or afraid, rather see them as challenges, as exercises that can toughen you up, not break you.
Just so you know, God will never let you go through anything that is too much for you.
How do I know? It’s because the Bible says so.
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.”

You can also take solace in the fact that even Jesus, the Son of God, also went through hard times.
In the words of Pastor Rick Warren, the best-selling author of The Purpose-Driven Life, “God can use dark and stressful times for good. He’ll use them to teach us to trust Him, to show us how to help others, and to draw us closer to other believers.
We all go through difficult times. The difference for those who believe in Jesus is not the absence of the shadow but the presence of the Light.”

So, stop being afraid and take these bad circumstances as God-given opportunities to worship, rather than worry.
I hope this makes you a better Christian with a different perspective and attitude towards things, that formerly perceived as bad.
