“American Idol” contestants, judges, and special guests brought a powerful worship experience to viewers on Sunday night with a special “Songs of Faith” episode.
Airing on April 20 on ABC, the three-hour broadcast filled primetime with a spirit of worship as the Top 20 contestants performed faith-based and gospel songs live for the first time in the show’s history.
One of the most memorable moments of the night was judge Carrie Underwood’s heartfelt performance of the classic hymn “How Great Thou Art,” sung on the same stage where her own musical journey began nearly twenty years ago. Jelly Roll also joined Christian artist Brandon Lake for a special performance of their hit song.
