Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has called for stronger international support to help Nigeria combat the growing threat of terrorism.

Speaking at the inaugural U.S.-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala in Washington, D.C., where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award, Pastor Adeboye said the country’s worsening security situation has become deeply personal.

“Terrorism is now at my doorstep,” he said while addressing an audience of religious leaders, U.S. policymakers, Nigerian diplomats, human rights advocates, and members of the Nigerian and American communities.

Pastor Adeboye urged the United States and its allies to strengthen their partnership with Nigeria in tackling terrorism, noting that the scale of the crisis has gone beyond what local institutions can effectively handle on their own.

The event, organised by the Save Nigeria Group USA and the U.S.-Nigeria Civil Society Coalition under the theme “Thank You, America. Please Do More,” highlighted the need for stronger advocacy against violence and insecurity in Nigeria.

During the ceremony, Pastor Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo were honoured for their outstanding contributions to faith and humanitarian service.

The RCCG leader’s remarks reflect growing concerns over the persistent security challenges facing Nigeria and the need for broader international collaboration to restore peace and protect lives.
