Pastor Kenneth Olusanya has explained the spiritual significance of water baptism, describing it as a representation of three important realities in the Christian faith.
Speaking during a recent teaching, Pastor Kenneth Olusanya stated, “Water baptism represents three spiritual realities; death, burial and resurrection.”
He explained that going into the water represents identification with the death of Christ, being immersed represents burial, while coming out of the water represents resurrection and newness of life.
The teaching reflects the biblical imagery associated with baptism, particularly the Apostle Paul’s explanation in Romans 6, where believers are described as being united with Christ in His death and raised to walk in newness of life.
The message has sparked conversations among Christians about the meaning of baptism and why it is considered an important expression of faith in many Christian traditions. Beyond the physical act, baptism is understood as a public identification with Jesus Christ and the believer’s commitment to a new life.
Pastor Olusanya’s teaching ultimately encourages believers to understand water baptism beyond the physical immersion, recognizing its symbolism of dying to the old life, being buried with Christ, and rising into a new life of faith.
