Dr. Olakunle Soriyan has encouraged people not to give up on themselves during difficult seasons, drawing lessons from the biblical stories of Job and Joseph.
“Who stayed with Job from the beginning to the end of Job?” Soriyan asked. “Job himself. You are the testimony of your own story.”
He also pointed to Joseph’s experience in prison, emphasizing that despite rejection, betrayal and hardship, Joseph continued through his journey.
“Who do you think stayed with Joseph in the prison? Joseph. That’s one person that never gave up on himself,” he said.
Soriyan argued that setbacks should not become a reason to stop believing that progress is still possible.
“When you lose, it’s not because victory is not possible. It’s because you stopped betting on yourself,” he said.
His message was simple: even when circumstances change and people leave, don’t become the person who gives up on your own journey.
