SIn 2016, Snoop Dogg surprised many fans when he shared a video singing along to Kirk Franklin’s gospel classic “Silver and Gold,” whose message centers on valuing Jesus above material riches.
Two years later, he went much further, releasing his first gospel album, Bible of Love. The 32-track project featured prominent gospel artists including Faith Evans, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett, Marvin Sapp and others.
In 2025, Snoop continued that gospel connection with Altar Call, a 21-track project dedicated to his late mother, Beverly Tate. He said the album reflected what she taught him about using his voice and platform to spread love and healing. Tate had also served as a church choir director.
Snoop’s story does not by itself establish the full nature of his personal beliefs, but it does show that Christian and gospel influences have remained a visible part of his public life for years.
