Nigerian gospel minister and praise worship leader Margaret Avar shares a powerful song titled “The Announcement.” The song is featured on her Not The Same album and carries a strong message of transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit.
“The Announcement” centres on the declaration that an encounter with God brings change. Margaret Avar reflects on the Spirit of the Lord coming upon her, anointing her, touching her, and changing her until she can confidently declare that she is no longer the same.
The song also draws from the biblical mission of the anointed, pointing to the work of binding the brokenhearted and setting captives free. Its repetitive chant style gives the message a strong worship and testimony feel.
With its focus on transformation, anointing, and the work of the Holy Spirit, “The Announcement” is a declaration of a changed life and a testimony of what an encounter with God can produce.
