Jürgen Klopp has begun a new chapter in his remarkable football career as head coach of the Germany national team.
But beyond the tactics, trophies and pressure of managing one of football’s biggest nations, Klopp has long spoken openly about something even more important to him: his Christian faith.
The former Liverpool manager has previously declared:
“Jesus Christ is the most important person in history.”
Klopp has also spoken about Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, describing it as the greatest act because it changed everything.
His faith has remained part of his story throughout the highs and lows of his football career. He has openly identified as a Christian and spoken about the security and perspective his belief in God gives him beyond success on the pitch.
Now, as he leads Germany into a new era, his testimony carries a simple reminder:
Football can bring trophies.
Success can bring recognition.
Leadership can bring influence.
But for the Christian, Jesus remains greater than it all.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8
New team. New responsibility. Same faith.
Jesus Christ above everything.
