American Idol finalist Breanna Nix has shared an emotional testimony about an 80-year-old man who told her he had been an atheist his entire life before deciding to place his faith in Jesus Christ.
According to Nix, the man had recently lost his wife, and his daughter brought him to one of her country concerts hoping to help him through his grief. During the show, Nix included several Christian songs.
Afterward, the man approached her in the meet-and-greet line in tears.
“I have been an atheist my whole entire life,” he told her, explaining that hearing her sing had caused him to begin questioning what he believed. He then asked what he needed to do to give “this Jesus thing” a try.
Nix shared John 3:16 with him and told him, “That was a promise, and all we had to do was believe.”
She said the man then asked her to help him respond immediately. Nix shared Romans 10:9 with him, and they prayed together as he confessed his faith in Christ.
For Christians, his story carries a powerful reminder: no one is too old, too distant or too far gone to encounter Jesus.
