A 22-year-old woman identified as Melanie Rivas has shared her personal testimony about how she turned to Christianity after experiencing homelessness, financial hardship and a difficult relationship.
According to an account reported by CBN News, Rivas said her life had reached a painful point about a year earlier when she found herself homeless and without financial resources after leaving what she described as an abusive same-sex relationship.
Speaking about her experience, she alleged that her former wife had taken her money and prevented her from accessing her financial accounts.
“My ex-wife stole all my money and locked me out of all of my accounts. So I had nothing,” she told CBN News.
Rivas explained that the experience left her emotionally overwhelmed and struggling with suicidal thoughts.
However, she said an unexpected email notification eventually led her to purchase a Bible at a local Walmart store.
According to her account, the decision became an important part of her journey towards embracing Christianity.
Rivas has since spoken publicly about her faith and what she believes God has done in her life.
A video in which she discusses her experience reportedly attracted nearly 400,000 views on social media, drawing attention to her personal story.
Her testimony highlights the role she believes her newfound Christian faith has played in helping her navigate a difficult period.
