Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior.
For Christians, that is not a political slogan.
It is the heart of the Gospel.
For nearly 2,000 years, believers have proclaimed that Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose from the dead and offers salvation to those who put their faith in Him.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also spoken openly about that conviction.
At his swearing-in ceremony, Rubio publicly thanked “Almighty God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” describing faith as the most important priority of his life.
But the message of Jesus is bigger than Marco Rubio.
It is bigger than Donald Trump.
It is bigger than Republicans, Democrats, elections or governments.
A Christian can appreciate a public official speaking openly about Jesus while still remembering that no politician represents Christ perfectly and no political party owns the Gospel.
Our ultimate allegiance belongs to Jesus.
As Acts 4:12 declares:
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
jesus christ is lord.
jesus christ saves.
and the gospel will always be bigger than politics.
