Before his opportunity came, Endrick was sitting on the bench talking to God.
Real Madrid were trailing Roma 3-1 in the Champions League when the Brazilian forward was suddenly called into the game.
“I was on the bench talking to God,” Endrick recalled.
“When I looked to the side, Nuno was calling me. I went on and kept talking to God because I thought I wasn’t going to come in so early.”
Then his opportunity came.
Endrick entered in the 59th minute, helped create Real Madrid’s second goal, scored the equaliser and played a decisive role as Madrid completed a dramatic 4-3 comeback.
He was later named MVP of the match. (Real Madrid)
There is something powerful about what happened before everyone saw the performance.
He was waiting.
He was praying.
He was still preparing.
For believers, that is a reminder that our relationship with God matters just as much in the unseen season as it does when the opportunity finally arrives.
Prayer does not guarantee that every waiting season will end with a trophy or public breakthrough.
But we can still bring God our hopes, disappointments and uncertainty while continuing to prepare faithfully.
before everyone sees your moment, keep talking to God in the waiting.
