American worship collective Housefires teams up with worship leader Davy Flowers on “We Have No Good,” a heartfelt worship song featured on the group’s 2023 album How To Start A Housefire, Pt. II. The song centres on the believer’s complete dependence on Jesus Christ, declaring Him as the source of true joy, life, and spiritual fulfilment.
Built around the confession that there is no lasting good apart from Jesus, the song reminds listeners that everything meaningful in their walk with God flows from Him. It describes Christ as their portion and cup, the fullness of their joy, and the One whose presence brings lasting satisfaction. Rather than placing confidence in personal strength or achievements, the song directs the heart towards the grace and goodness found in Jesus.
The worship experience also celebrates the joy that comes from being in God’s presence. As the song progresses, its repeated declarations create an atmosphere of gratitude, freedom, and joyful praise. Its simple yet profound message encourages believers to remain conscious of their need for Christ and to find their satisfaction in Him rather than in temporary things.
“We Have No Good” is a reminder that Jesus is not merely part of the believer’s life; He is the source of true joy and every good thing. Through this worship song, Housefires invites listeners to surrender their hearts to Him and discover the lasting joy found in His presence.
