Arsenal midfielder Eberechi Eze has publicly expressed gratitude to God following his impressive performance in the Gunners’ 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
The England international shared a brief message on Instagram on October 22, 2026, a day after the European encounter at the Allianz Arena in Germany.
“Ekele dịrị so Chineke,” he wrote, using an Igbo expression that roughly translates to “all thanks be to God.”
The message attracted attention among supporters, particularly Nigerians who recognised the language and appreciated the midfielder’s expression of gratitude.
Eze had played an important role in Arsenal’s Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich on October 21.
The midfielder was introduced early in the match after Bukayo Saka suffered an injury and went on to open the scoring in the 25th minute, converting a pass from Martin Ødegaard.
However, Bayern Munich responded through Alphonso Davies before Harry Kane scored a second-half penalty to put the German side ahead.
With Arsenal trailing 2-1, Declan Rice struck an 82nd-minute equaliser to secure a point for the visitors.
Despite the demanding encounter, Eze’s post-match message focused on gratitude to God rather than the result alone.
The footballer has previously made references to his christian faith on social media, including expressions of appreciation for God’s mercy and timing.
His latest message reflects that personal belief, showing how the Arsenal midfielder continues to acknowledge God while competing at the highest level of European football.
For Christian football supporters, the message also echoes the teaching in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which encourages believers to give thanks in all circumstances.
