French football star Olivier Giroud has continued to demonstrate his commitment to Christianity, openly discussing how his relationship with Jesus Christ influences his personal life and professional football career.
The former Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan striker has repeatedly spoken about his faith, describing Jesus as an important source of strength, peace and direction.
During the 2023 World Youth Day gathering in Lisbon, Portugal, Giroud addressed approximately 40,000 young French Christians through a video message, encouraging them to remain committed to their relationship with God.
“God is waiting for you, and He wants to speak to each of you,” he told the gathering, encouraging them to pray.
The 2018 World Cup winner also explained that following Jesus has brought him joy, strength and peace, both on and off the football pitch.
Giroud has previously expressed his desire to use his public influence to share his christian beliefs, explaining that his football career provides opportunities to speak about Jesus Christ.
The footballer, who has a Bible verse from Psalm 23 tattooed on his arm, has also spoken about the importance of prayer and reading Scripture.
His public expressions of faith highlight how professional athletes can use their platforms to share their religious convictions and encourage others.
