We were encouraged to hold on to His word, Isaiah 30:21, which says; “Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left”.
This week, the focus on the people, we choose to surround ourselves with.
Proverbs 27:6 says; “Better are the wounds of a friend, than the deceitful kisses of an enemy.”
This passage shows the importance of being around the right people, in this case, truthful people.
These people prove that they have your best interest at heart by pointing out areas that need improvement.
They also serve as much needed mirrors, as they help us face the truth about ourselves, whether we want to or not.
Other Scripture references urge us to be grateful for these people.
“The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice” (Proverbs 12:15 NIV) and “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed”. (Proverbs 15:22 NIV).
So, we are all advised to have truthful people in our lives, as they push us to have wholesome lives.
