Nigerian youths have been warned that the excessive use of social media can rob them of their destinies.
The Nation reports that Bishop David Oyedepo gave the warning on Friday, May 21, during the 15th Convocation Ceremony and Conferment of Honourary Doctorate Degrees and presentation of prizes of Covenant University in Ota, Ogun.
While admonishing the youths against the excessive use of social media, the Chancellor of the institution noted that the negative impact of social media on youths could not be overemphasised.
According to him, social media has made youngsters lose focus, adding that it has unconsciously robbed them of their future and time.
Oyedepo according to Daily Trust, also said the honour of the current generation has been wiped off as they chat all day with no time left to think much less engage productively in the pursuit of any task.
