Nigerian gospel music group BMC Melody Choir joins gospel minister Progress Effiong on “Ama Mi,” a heartfelt worship song released in October 2022 and produced by Dubble Dee. Delivered in Ibibio, a language widely spoken in Akwa Ibom State and other parts of southern Nigeria, the song brings a rich indigenous expression to gospel worship.
Through its worshipful sound and heartfelt delivery, “Ama Mi” draws listeners into a moment of reverence and devotion to God. The collaboration highlights the beauty of expressing faith through indigenous languages, allowing worship to remain connected to the culture and identity of the people.
With BMC Melody Choir’s choral sound and Progress Effiong’s contribution, the song offers a meaningful worship experience for listeners who appreciate African gospel music. Its use of Ibibio also celebrates the richness of Nigeria’s linguistic and musical heritage.
“Ama Mi” is a beautiful addition to the Nigerian gospel music scene, reminding listeners that worship can be expressed in different languages while remaining centred on honouring God.
