Nigerian gospel minister and worship leader Dunsin Oyekan delivers a powerful expression of devotion and intimacy with God in “I Will Stay.” Released in January 2023, the song is the eleventh track on his album The Birth of Revival. It invites listeners into a deep atmosphere of worship, prayer, and waiting on the Lord.
At the heart of the song is a commitment to remain in God’s presence, drawing strength and renewal from Him. Through its repeated call to wait on the Lord, the song reminds believers that spiritual growth requires patience, consistency, and a willingness to seek God beyond moments of convenience.
The imagery of staying at the altar to drink from living waters expresses a longing to be continually filled by God until that spiritual abundance overflows into the lives of others. It also highlights the belief that genuine revival begins with personal devotion and a deep relationship with God.
With its extended worship arrangement and meditative repetition, “I Will Stay” encourages listeners to slow down, remain attentive to God, and choose His presence above distractions. It is a call to abide in Him, receive renewed strength, and keep seeking Him until their lives reflect the fullness of His presence.
