Zimbabwean gospel minister Michael Mahendere, alongside Direct Worship, delivers a powerful message of faith through “Taura Shoko [Speak A Word].” Featured on his 2020 live worship project The SPOW (Secret Place of Worship), the song celebrates the authority and life-changing power of God’s Word. Inspired by Hebrews 4:12, it reminds believers that God’s Word is living, powerful, and active.
Sung in Shona, Taura Shoko means “Speak a Word.” The song encourages Christians to speak God’s Word with faith, trusting in His power to bring hope in difficult situations. Its message describes mountains moving, chains breaking, doors opening, and what was once dead coming back to life through the power of God’s Word in the name of Jesus Christ.
With its vibrant African gospel sound, passionate delivery, and powerful live worship atmosphere, “Taura Shoko” calls listeners to move beyond silence and declare the promises of God over their lives. It encourages believers to stand firm in Scripture, remain confident in God’s faithfulness, and trust His Word even when circumstances seem impossible.
“Taura Shoko [Speak A Word]” is a bold declaration of faith that reminds Christians of the power of God’s Word and encourages them to speak life, hold on to His promises, and trust in the name of Jesus.
