American Christian singer and songwriter Terrian delivers an energetic expression of faith and surrender through “Light It Up.” Released in November 2020 and later featured on her debut EP, Genesis of Terrian, the song blends contemporary Christian pop with a vibrant sound and a message centred on trusting God’s direction. Co-written by Terrian, GabeReal, Darren Mulligan, and Kyle Williams, the track became her first No. 1 single on the Billboard Christian Hot AC/CHR chart in March 2021.
At its heart, “Light It Up” is a prayer for God’s light to guide the way forward. Terrian honestly acknowledges the confusion that can come with following God’s plans, while affirming her willingness to trust Him even when she does not understand everything. The song expresses a desire to let go of personal struggles, receive God’s direction, and follow wherever He leads.
With its upbeat rhythm, catchy chorus, and sincere message, the song presents surrender as an active choice to trust Jesus. It encourages listeners to seek His guidance, allow Him to expose what needs to change, and remain committed to Him through seasons of uncertainty.
“Light It Up” is a reminder that faith does not require having every answer. Through this uplifting track, Terrian encourages listeners to invite Jesus into their struggles, trust His leading, and allow His light to direct their paths.
