Pastor Soji Pitan has shared his views on femininity and relationships, encouraging women to embrace softness rather than feeling the need to display strength in every situation.
“Every man is looking for a helpmate, not another mother,” he said.
Using everyday examples, Pitan suggested that some women may become so accustomed to handling everything themselves that they struggle to allow a partner to help or take responsibility.
He urged women to embrace what he described as their femininity, saying there is nothing wrong with allowing softness, emotion and dependence to have a place within a relationship.
His comments, however, reflect his own perspective on gender roles and relationships, and are likely to draw different reactions from people with differing views on femininity, independence and partnership.
