Apostle Johnson Suleman has stirred conversations across the country after calling on President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against Nigeria’s worsening insecurity or step down from office.
Speaking during a church service, the Omega Fire Ministries General Overseer expressed concern over the persistent attacks, kidnappings, and killings affecting many parts of the country.
According to him, Nigeria’s security agencies have the capacity to tackle the crisis, but the real issue lies with those sponsoring terrorism and criminal activities.
Apostle Suleman said:
“I have travelled to several countries, and I can boldly tell you that the Nigerian Army, the Police, and the DSS are among the best in the world. The sponsors of terrorism are our real problem. If the President cannot deal with them, he should resign and let somebody else do it.”
His remarks quickly gained traction online, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians. While many applauded him for boldly speaking on an issue affecting ordinary citizens, others argued that pastors should focus on spiritual matters and avoid direct political commentary.
The statement has once again reignited the debate over whether religious leaders should speak out on national issues or remain within the boundaries of the pulpit.
