Nigerian pastor and relationship teacher Apostle Femi Lazarus is currently generating serious reactions online after issuing a strong statement cautioning churches and Christian ministers against turning every spiritual activity into a money-making system.
In a message that has now circulated widely across Christian social media, the pastor criticized the growing culture where conferences, mentorship access, counseling sessions, worship meetings, and even supposedly prophetic interactions are increasingly tied to compulsory payments or premium financial gates.
According to him, while ministry administration requires resources, the body of Christ must be careful not to commercialize spiritual service to the point where believers begin to feel that access to impartation is reserved only for those who can pay.
His comments have sparked heavy debate because many Nigerian Christians instantly connected the statement to a growing frustration they have silently held about the rising financial demands attached to some church programs and ministerial platforms.
Some believers praised Apostle Femi Lazarus for saying publicly what many members have been afraid to voice, arguing that the gospel is gradually becoming packaged like a business model in certain circles.
