Bishop David Abioye has called on government officials and Christian ministers to walk in the fear of God and allow their consciences to guide their actions.
Addressing those in government, Abioye questioned extravagant living while citizens are suffering.
“People are suffering, you are drinking wine. People are suffering, you are flying every part of the world. Your nation is bleeding and you’re smiling and cracking jokes,” he said.
Turning to Christian leaders, Abioye delivered a similarly strong warning.
“Pastors across the globe, walk in the fear of God. Stop lying on the pulpit. Stop deceiving people. Stop organizing fake miracles,” he said.
Abioye also recalled rejecting the offer of a new Jeep, saying he walked away because he does not accept such gifts.
He urged ministers to prioritize faithfulness over popularity, while making clear that he was also applying the message to himself.
“Those who do right don’t get afraid of any message,” he concluded.
