Hollywood actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone has spoken openly about returning to the Christian faith in which he was raised.
While promoting Rocky Balboa in 2006, Stallone said worldly temptations and personal choices had caused him to lose his way before he began attending church again.
Stallone described the church as a place where people strengthen themselves spiritually, comparing it to a gym for the soul.
He said that trusting Jesus, listening to His Word and allowing God to guide his life helped relieve the pressure of trying to control everything himself.
The actor also connected the Rocky films to themes of faith, integrity and perseverance, calling Jesus an inspiration for anyone attempting to overcome seemingly impossible odds.
His comments continue to circulate among Christian audiences as a testimony about returning to faith after years of spiritual distance.
