Apostle Sam Adegoke Pamilerin has issued a public statement addressing aspects of his past, revealing that he was involved in sexual relationships with women before his marriage.
In the statement shared on his social media page, the clergyman said he had stepped back from public ministry and social media in recent weeks to reflect, seek counsel and confront matters from his past.
He acknowledged that although the relationships occurred before his marriage, he believes his actions fell short of the standards of holiness, integrity and self-control expected of him as a Christian minister.
“I take full responsibility for my actions and sincerely apologise to the women involved for any hurt, disappointment, or harm I may have caused.”
He also apologised to his wife, family, church, colleagues and those who have trusted him as a spiritual leader.
Pamilerin said he is not attempting to excuse his conduct because it happened before marriage, adding that he has been receiving pastoral and professional counsel while taking steps toward what he described as genuine repentance and accountability.
He further stated that repentance should be demonstrated through changed behaviour, accountability and a willingness to accept the consequences of one’s actions.
The cleric asked for prayers as he continues the process, saying he remains committed to moving forward with greater integrity, responsibility and accountability.
