Former Super Eagles forward Peter Osaze Odemwingie has opened up about the beginning of his personal Christian journey.

Speaking with Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade, Odemwingie said he gave his life to Christ at 21 years old, while he was still a young footballer beginning his professional career.

“I gave my life to Jesus in Christ Embassy, Benin City,” he recalled.

Odemwingie explained that he had been studying philosophy and asking serious questions about life and faith. His curiosity eventually led him deeper into Christianity and the Bible.

He also recalled sharing a room with former Super Eagles goalkeeper Austin Ejide during the Africa Cup of Nations, saying the two of them would spend time reading the Bible together.

Years after his football career, Odemwingie continues to speak publicly about his faith and share Christian messages.

From searching for answers to openly declaring Jesus Christ, he says the journey began at 21 in Christ Embassy, Benin City.
