I lack nothing in life. God has been very generous

On the eve of Portugal’s round of 16 showdown against Spain at the 2026 World Cup, the question every reporter wanted answered was finally asked:
Could Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest players of all time, end his career without ever lifting the World Cup?

At 41 years old, in what he has confirmed will be his last World Cup, Ronaldo didn’t answer with frustration or fear. He answered with gratitude:
I lack nothing in life. God has been very generous to me and has given me everything I never expected to win. I won’t be more Cristiano for winning the World Cup, and I won’t be less Cristiano if I don’t win it.
Five Ballon d’Ors.

Five Champions League titles. A European Championship. Two Nations League trophies. More international goals than any man in history. And yet, standing on the edge of the one prize that has escaped him, he chose to give credit to God.

It’s a powerful reminder for all of us: our worth isn’t found in trophies, titles, or achievements. It’s found in the One who gave us everything to begin with.
‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and
cometh down from the Father of lights. (James 1:17)
