Gospel singer Frank Edwards has cautioned Christians against using wealth, influence or personal success as proof that someone is more spiritual than others.
Using Elon Musk as an illustration, he said:
“If having a lot of money is what shows that you are of God, then Elon Musk is the holiest man in the world.”
His point was that financial success should not automatically be treated as evidence of spiritual maturity or closeness to God.
Edwards also challenged Christians who see themselves as the “MVPs” of the church, warning against pride and the belief that God’s work depends on one individual.
His message emphasized humility, reminding believers that gift, money and influence should never replace character, dependence on God and service to the wider body of Christ.
