Trysten Tice has shared how choosing to follow Jesus came at a painful personal cost.

Raised in a culturally Jewish family in South Florida, Trysten says her journey began after attending a Christian church and starting to seriously explore who Jesus was.

As she prayed and studied Scripture, she became convinced that Jesus, Yeshua, is the Messiah.

But her decision created deep tension at home.

According to Trysten, her mother eventually told her that if she chose to walk out and continue following Jesus, she could not return home.

Trysten left.

Friends gave her somewhere to stay, and she later publicly declared her faith through baptism in the Jordan River. (Gateway Center for Israel)

But the story did not end with rejection.

Trysten says that after years of disagreement and prayer, her mother Marni also came to faith in Jesus. Today, the two have publicly shared their testimony together. (Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural!™)

For Trysten, following Jesus meant choosing faith even when it affected one of the closest relationships in her life.

Her story is also a reminder that Christians can remain faithful to their convictions while continuing to love and pray for family members who do not understand or share their beliefs.
