Sacramento Kings rookie Dylan Cardwell has found another way to publicly express his Christian faith, honoring God through his NBA debut trading card.
Cardwell, who went undrafted in 2025 before earning a two way contract with the Kings and eventually securing a multiyear NBA deal, has repeatedly credited God for his journey to the league.
His NBA debut card features Psalm 102:2, highlighting his desire to carry his faith with him as he begins his professional basketball journey. The verse is part of a prayer asking God to hear and respond to someone calling on Him in a time of trouble.
The gesture comes from a player who has consistently been vocal about his faith. After earning his NBA opportunity, Cardwell said that his joy comes from the Lord and that he tries to be a light for Him every day.
Cardwell has also spoken about giving God the glory for his unlikely rise to the NBA, saying that he was not expected to reach this level after going undrafted and spending much of his college career playing limited minutes.
For Cardwell, the card is more than a piece of basketball memorabilia. It provides another opportunity to point people toward his faith and acknowledge the God he believes made his NBA journey possible.
