Olu Shola Olaleye has urged people to take their reputation and accountability seriously, warning that simply knowing that God knows the truth may not be enough when accusations arise publicly.
“God might be your witness, but men need a witness they can see,” he said.
According to him, in today’s social media-driven world, an accusation can sometimes cause serious damage even before the facts have been fully established.
He noted that public opinion can move quickly, and in some cases, people who were later cleared of wrongdoing still find that the accusations against them remain the most visible part of their online identity.
Olaleye also warned against dismissing public perception entirely, especially when reputation can affect careers, relationships and future opportunities.
His message was a call for wisdom, transparency and accountability: live in such a way that when questions arise, there are facts, records and credible people who can speak to your character and actions.
