Visitors to iTunes’s chart of top-selling hip-hop albums today will find an abnormal amount of albums without the capital E in a red box next to them.
Two of Christian hip hop’s most influential artists, Sho Baraka and Bizzle, released highly-anticipated new albums on Friday. The Narrative and Crowns & Crossesboth quickly climbed the iTunes charts — Sho’s doing so despite Humble Beast Records offering it for free on the label’s official website.
Their music joined projects in the hip-hop top 20 by Derek Minor and NF. Minor released Reflectiona week ago, and — with an impressive display of sales longevity — NF dropped Therapy Session in … April.
