The Redeemed Christian Church of God, under the leadership of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has helped bring home a second batch of Nigerians who were stranded in South Africa amid growing anti-migrant hostility and concerns over xenophobic attacks.
The latest group consisted of 105 people, including 55 adults, 45 children and five infants. Their arrival brought the total number repatriated through RCCG’s humanitarian intervention to 205, following an earlier group of 100 Nigerians.
RCCG has pledged to sponsor the return of up to 500 Nigerians, with the church funding the humanitarian effort while working alongside relevant authorities on documentation and reception arrangements.
For many Christians, this is a powerful example of the Church going beyond preaching to practically respond to the needs of people in distress.
Faith expressed through compassion.
Prayer accompanied by action.
And a church stepping in to help people return home safely.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18
