The personal assistant to late gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has opened up about the singer’s final hours following his sudden death.
According to Babadunni Gbolabo, Toluwanisings had shown no obvious signs of illness before he suddenly collapsed.
“There was nothing wrong with him. He was very fine and in perfect condition. He just slumped,” he recounted.
What followed, according to the PA, was a desperate search for medical attention across Ibadan.
He alleged that they moved from one hospital to another, with some facilities reportedly citing an ongoing doctors’ strike or unavailable medical personnel, while others did not admit the singer. Accounts published from the interview put the number of hospitals visited at around seven or eight, though some reports have cited a higher figure.
Toluwanisings died in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026, aged 41, shortly after ministering at a worship programme in Ibadan the previous night. His family later confirmed his passing.
His death has left the gospel music community mourning and has also raised troubling questions about access to emergency medical care.
Our prayers remain with his family, friends, ministry team and everyone touched by his music.
Rest in peace, Toluwanisings.
