Professional wrestling star Samoa Joe has opened up about the Christian faith he says has remained constant throughout his life and career.
Speaking at Grace Family Church in Florida, Joe, whose real name is Joe Seanoa, reflected on decades in professional wrestling and said:
“The Lord has always been there and has always been an important part of my journey.”
He said he has leaned on God during some of his most difficult seasons and celebrated His goodness during his biggest victories. (faithtalk590.com)
Joe also shared how his understanding of money changed when he stopped seeing everything he earned as something he owned and began viewing himself as a steward of what God had given him.
“We own truly nothing,” he said.
While encouraging Christians to give, Joe made clear that he was not promoting prosperity-gospel teaching, saying his own family had previously been hurt by that doctrine. (CHRISTIAN POST)
He also recalled a difficult period when WWE released him. His wife reassured him: “God’s got this.”
According to Joe, about four hours later, a friend he had not spoken to in roughly 15 years called with an opportunity to join the television series Twisted Metal. He eventually landed the role. (Christian Post)
For Samoa Joe, strength is not only about what happens inside the wrestling ring.
His testimony is about trusting God through uncertainty, recognising His provision and remaining faithful through both victories and setbacks.
