Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reportedly thanked the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for a $265,854 donation towards the evacuation of 500 Nigerians from South Africa.
The donation was made to support the evacuation process, providing assistance to Nigerians who were being brought back to the country from South Africa.
The development highlights the role of faith based organizations in supporting Nigerians during difficult situations. RCCG’s contribution provided financial assistance toward the cost of the evacuation and was acknowledged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The reported gesture also reflects the church’s involvement in humanitarian efforts beyond its regular religious activities, particularly in situations requiring urgent support for Nigerians abroad.
The Ministry’s appreciation of the donation has drawn attention to the importance of collaboration between government institutions and private organizations in responding to the needs of citizens in emergency situations.
