Apostle Joshua Selman has raised concerns about what he describes as a leadership deficiency within the body of Christ, saying effective preaching alone does not automatically produce effective leadership.
“There are many preachers, but there are very few leaders,” Selman said. “Men will listen to you if you are a preacher, but they will only follow you when you are a leader.”
According to Selman, sincerity and doctrinal soundness are important but do not replace the practical skills required to lead people and sustain influence.
He highlighted four areas Christian leaders should develop: self or image management, vision or project management, people management and resource management.
“Managing yourself is the greatest expression of leadership,” he said, stressing the importance of self-discipline, communication, team building and the ability to turn vision into reality.
