Apostle Femi Lazarus has challenged men to understand that their responsibility in the home goes beyond financial provision, emphasising what he describes as a husband’s spiritual responsibility to stand in prayer for his family.
Lazarus recalled a conversation with a woman he once liked who, before responding to his interest, shared an experience from her family. According to her account, her mother died in the hospital, and her father locked himself in a room and prayed for hours until she reportedly came back to life.
She then asked Lazarus a question that stayed with him: “Are you the kind of man that can stand for me?”
“What it means to be a priest goes beyond dropping money for food,” Lazarus said.
He used the story to encourage men to develop their knowledge of Scripture and their prayer lives so they can stand with their families during difficult situations.
His message was that while financial provision is important, Christian husbands should, in his view, also develop the spiritual conviction and capacity to pray and stand with their families in times of crisis.
