REV. Ezekiel Dachomo has taken his campaign over the killings and displacement affecting communities in Plateau State and Nigeria’s wider Middle Belt to Israel.
The COCIN Regional Chairman for Barkin Ladi arrived in Israel on October 2 for what he described as his first international Christian advocacy tour, saying he wants to draw greater global attention to the violence affecting Christian communities in Nigeria.
According to reports based on a programme shared by the cleric, Dachomo intends to seek an audience with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and engage Christian leaders and prayer groups from different countries.
Dachomo has repeatedly described attacks in Plateau and other parts of the Middle Belt as persecution and what he calls a “Christian genocide.” That characterization remains contested, with Nigeria’s wider security crisis involving religious, ethnic, communal and criminal dimensions.
While in Israel, Dachomo has also said he is praying not only for Christians but for Nigerians of different backgrounds affected by violence.
“By the mercy of God, I will be addressing the world in Israel,” he said.
His message is clear: he wants the suffering of communities in Plateau and across Nigeria’s Middle Belt to receive greater international attention.
