Marry A Poorer Man With Peace Rather Than Enter A Wealthy Home Full Of Strife” — Pastor Poju Oyemade

Pastor Poju Oyemade has advised singles not to make wealth the deciding factor when choosing a spouse.

Quoting Proverbs 17:1, he said:

“better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.”

Using the verse to explain his point, Pastor Poju said it may be better to marry someone with fewer financial resources but enjoy peace than enter a wealthy family where you are constantly disrespected, harassed or treated as though you only came because of their money.

“Find where there’s peace. Follow peace,” he said.

He shared the example of a woman who entered a wealthy family relationship but said she was treated disrespectfully because of the family’s status.

His message was not that poverty should be pursued or that wealthy families are automatically problematic.

The emphasis was on peace, dignity, respect and character.

Money can make life easier, but it cannot replace a peaceful home.

Choose peace over pressure, respect over status, and character over appearances.
