Billy Graham: Believers In Christ Are Never Alone No Matter What

Believers and non-believers alike sometimes
experience a curveball in life: challenges to health,
family, or finances that can leave one wondering –
where is God?

In his latest advice column for The Kansas City Star, world renowned the Rev. Billy Graham says that
such difficult times are precisely when believers
should depend the most on God.

In response to a question posed by a reader who
recently received a bad medical report indicating
the person had developed a crippling disease that
may claim the person’s life, the person wonders,
“Where is God in all this?”

The preacher responds, assuring the individual that
God has never left him/her. In fact circumstances
like this are precisely when believers need to turn
to God, he says.

“God is exactly where he always has been: loving
you, watching over you and taking care of you in
the midst of life’s hardships, even when you
weren’t aware of it.”

The founder of the Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association tells the indiviual, who admitted in the
correspondence that he/she never paid attention
to God, that the Savior has been waiting for the
person to make Him the center of the person’s life.

Graham offers a little tough love, too, encouraging
the individual who wrote in to draw strength from
Christ.

“He [God] has been paying attention to you, and
instead of getting angry at Him because things
aren’t going your way now, my prayer is that you
will turn to Him and discover the strength and
comfort He alone can give you,” Graham writes.

Nearing the age of 98, the famed evangelist, who
has traveled the globe spreading the Gospel for
more than 60 years, now spends his ministry in
prayer, said son Franklin, The Christian Post reported. The elder Graham may likely be sending
up prayers for circumstances just like this.

Billy Graham also offers this seeker of wisdom a bit
of practical advice: to learn as much as possible
about their health condition and to live life now. He
says to try to move closer to Christ through prayer,
reading God’s Word, and fellowshipping with other
believers.

“Life isn’t always the way we wish it were, nor has
God promised that it will be,” Graham continues.
“But when we know Christ, we know we are never
alone, no matter what happens to us. The Psalmist’s
words are true: ‘Surely your goodness and love will
follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever'” (Psalm 23:6).
