Family Is Family, You Can’t Throw People Away Because They Are Imperfect” — Apostle Emmanuel Iren

Apostle Emmanuel Iren has reminded believers that the church is a spiritual family, and like every family, it is made up of imperfect people.

He used the example of biological relatives who may repeatedly make mistakes, ignore advice or frustrate us, yet we still find ourselves showing up for them because, at the end of the day, family is family.

According to him, the same understanding should shape how Christians relate with one another in church.

“If you come from a dramatic family, why are you shocked that someone in your service unit can also be difficult?” he asked.

His point is simple:

The church is not a gathering of perfect people.

It is a family of people who are still growing.

That means spiritual community requires patience, endurance, forgiveness and a determination not to give up on people too quickly.

“Everybody is a work in progress,” he said.

And perhaps the most humbling part is this:

there is room for one more imperfect person, and that person is you.
