Gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has spoken about criticism, financial integrity and the importance of remaining focused on God’s approval rather than public opinion.
Addressing claims that he is seeking attention and money, the worship minister insisted that financial gain has never been his motivation.
“They say he is looking for clout; he is looking for money. money? if i tell you the money i have walked away from… i am the last person you can buy with money. God built us in the wilderness,” he declared.
Bassey also reminded his listeners that criticism does not necessarily end when someone becomes successful.
“Even when you succeed, people will still abuse you, so clock it,” he stated.
According to him, believers should not allow public opinion to determine their sense of purpose.
“The voice that should matter is the one from heaven,” he added.
His remarks emphasise his conviction that faithfulness to God should take priority over financial rewards, popularity and the approval of others.
