Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about the importance of faith and gratitude in his life, revealing why he regularly attended church despite his fame and success.
in a December 2018 interview with Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner explained that his Catholic faith remained an important part of his life.
“I go to church every week. i’m Catholic, and i go to thank God for what He gives me,” he said.
Ronaldo explained that rather than constantly asking God for more blessings, he preferred to express gratitude for what he already had.
“I don’t ask for anything. thank God i have everything,” he added.
The football legend also revealed that he thanked God for protecting his family and friends.
At the time, Ronaldo was playing for Juventus in Italy, where he said he visited different churches in Turin.
His remarks offer a glimpse into how the footballer expressed his religious beliefs while enjoying extraordinary success in his professional career.
The message also echoes Psalm 100:4–5, which encourages believers to approach God with thanksgiving and praise.
