Apostle Johnson Suleman has urged young people who believe they are called into ministry not to use that calling as an excuse for inactivity.
“Go and get something doing,” he said.
According to Suleman, a person may genuinely believe God has called them, but there can still be a period of preparation before that calling develops into full-time ministry.
“Till the call matures, till the call grows, do something. Earn a salary,” he said.
He explained that working under someone can teach discipline, responsibility and structure, qualities he believes are also important in ministry.
Suleman also encouraged those attending Bible school to find work that can fit around their studies rather than remaining completely idle.
“It teaches you discipline. It teaches you engagement,” he said.
He warned that prolonged inactivity can lead to what he described as laxity and a lackadaisical approach to life.
His message was simple: a calling from God should not become an excuse for laziness. Work, grow, learn discipline and allow the calling to mature in its season.
