Palestinians Lament Israel’s Controversial Settlement Bill | WATCH

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has appealed to the international community to oppose an Israeli law that retroactively legalises 4,000 settler homes built on private Palestinian land.

Israel’s parliament voted to pass the bill on Monday. It allows settlers to keep land they took if they could prove they did not know it was owned by Palestinians.

Palestinian officials have said that the law is a threat to the proposed two state solution to the conflict between both parties.

Al Jazeera‘s Imran Khan reporting from West Jerusalem, said  the Palestinian land owners could take their case to the Supreme Court as early as Tuesday.

“The Palestinian Authority says it has to see what happens next, and (will decide) whether they have to go to the ICC or the UN,” he added.
