Ese Brume has raised Nigeria’s hope of leaving the Rio Olympics with a medal after qualifying for the finals of the women’s long jump event.
The 20-year-old African Junior record holder of the event lept 6.67m to finish third in the qualification round.
Brume, who won gold in the 2014 Commonwealth Games will now compete in the finals scheduled to take place at 9:15PM on Wednesday (1:15AM Thursday, Nigerian Time).
